The Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) has confirmed a Covid-19 case at their headquarters at Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Kuala Lumpur.
In a statement, JKR explains that a staff member working at their headquarters tested positive for the coronavirus on 16 September and has been admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
Details of close contacts of the infected staff have been submitted to the Health Ministry for screening, while disinfection and sanitisation will be carried out in the building.

JKR also affirms that the identified close contact individuals will undergo home quarantine.
Along with the statement, JKR also released the infected staff member’s movements for public information which showed the staff had visited Parliament and travelled to Kuching, Sarawak for a meeting.
The staff had undergone Covid-19 swab testing during random selection at Kuching International Airport upon landing on 14 September.

The JKR employee has stayed at Hilton Hotel in Kuching and was informed by a Kuching hospital of his positive test result while on the way back home to Kuala Lumpur on 16 September.
