Minister of Foreign Affairs Troubled By Protests in the US

According to a press release from Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysia is urging all sides to resort to an approach of dialogue to find a lasting solution.
He cites concern over the series of violent riots which continue to take place in over 70 cities across the US following the death of George Floyd on 25 May 2020.
In particular, Hishammuddin notes that non-compliance with new norms of social distancing and large gatherings is worrying when the rest of the world is focusing efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, actions that result in loss of life, injury, and loss of property and business does not benefit anyone.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that there has been no report of Malaysian citizens who have been involved or injured in these events. The Ministry urges all Malaysians overseas to adhere to safety instructions by local authorities.
