UTAR student fulfills mother’s final wishes by wearing graduation robe to funeral
Graduation. It’s supposed to be a time of joy, sharing the sweet
fruit of labouring sleepless nights away with loved ones.
Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to enjoy that
moment to its fullest.
Xu Jia Huan, an undergraduate student at UTAR had that
moment snatched away when her mother passed away a month before her convocation
ceremony.
But Jia Huan didn’t let that stop her mother from being a
part of her joy.
She wore her graduation robes to her mother’s funeral.
According to The Star, the family from Kelantan were planning to wear blue for her graduation ceremony.
“Today, father and brother are dressed (in blue), even though brother is wearing father’s clothes. I’ve also helped you put on a blue shirt because it fits you well, better than it does me.
“Mummy, your big baby has graduated; graduated 33 days earlier than expected.â€

Xu Jia Huan’s mother was only 47 years old when she passed
away. She had fainted after doing 20 minutes of Zumba but was pronounced dead when
the paramedics arrived.
Our deepest condolences to Xu Jia Huan and her family.
