Indonesian police are still conducting a search operation for seven human infant skeletons buried at a former pond site in Central Java, Indonesia, as reported by the Liputan 6 newsportal.
According to the report, the seven infants were suspected of being the result of an incestuous relationship between a 57-year-old villager and his daughter.
The suspect was identified as a resident of Tanjung Village and was accused of sleeping with his 25-year-old daughter since 2012.
Banyumas Police Chief Agus Supriadi Siswanto added that it is possible that there is more than one suspect involved in the case after the suspect confessed that he had an illicit relationship with his daughter after being told to do so by a shaman.
According to the suspect, he met a shaman when he was working as a construction labourer in Klaten in 2011. The shaman told him that if he wanted to become rich, he had to have sex with his daughter seven times.
At the time of arrest, the suspect is still poor, as observed by Kompas.
However, at the moment Agus added that the police have sufficient evidence against the man as the main suspect in the case.
The matter was brought to light when two cleaning staff found what appeared to be human remains on June 15 at the former pond site.
The police have also concluded that the heinous act started from before the birth of the first child in 2013 right up to the seventh birth in 2021.
Based on the suspect’s confession, there are still three infant bodies that he killed and buried at that location. This is in addition to the four infant skeletons we found between June 15 and 21.

The police also revealed that the man was suspected of killing all the babies by suffocating them with a cloth over their noses until they died.
According to Agus, there were five male babies and two female babies.
The Banyumas Police Crime Investigation Unit excavated the pond area yesterday but has yet to find the remaining three infant skeletons.
