A Twitter user Ftha (@btsvvtboys) shared his scary ordeal while driving along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), between the Damansara Exit Toll and Subang Jaya Exit Toll.
Around 6.40pm, a metal pipe from a lorry carrying metal parts fell and pierced the windshield of Ftha’s car on the passenger side.
Ftha said the lorry driver probably didn’t secure the tarps properly so the loose metal pipe went flying.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a dashcam in the car and does not know how else to retrieve any info about the lorry to make a report.
He said the lorry’s number plate starts with ‘JS’ but he couldn’t remember the rest of it. It was a huge lorry that was being driven in the middle lane.
i was driving on the NKVE highway and one of the lorries yang bawak besi buruk didn't secure their tarps properly. one of it went flying straight to the car's windshield and luckily didn't hurt me while driving on the highway. @plustrafik #NKVE #Damansara #SubangJaya pic.twitter.com/HFq9OLhTr6

While netizens were glad that he escaped unscathed, they were also spooked that it was a close shave.
Some advised Ftha to report to the highway authorities and maybe the traffic cameras caught something that can be helpful.
Hopefully, the other drivers with dashcams on the same road that day could help him out too.
Meanwhile, another netizen advised road users to overtake any lorries that carry loose spare parts.
Earlier this year, a woman experienced something similar while driving along PLUS highway. A metal pole flew out of a lorry in the next lane and embedded itself in her car’s windshield.
Just like Ftha, she couldn’t capture the lorry’s number plate. At the time, she hoped that the Transport Ministry and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) could enforce lorry regulations for everyone’s safety.
