It’s understandable to be in a celebratory mood during the Hari Raya holidays. However, a couple’s actions on the road were a little too cheery for the authorities.

In a viral video, a man in a blue baju Melayu performed a motorcycle “wheelie” while his female companion in a blue baju kurung rode pillion.

The video lasted 29 seconds and showed the man performing the “wheelie” a few times with his legs on the dashboard while someone else recorded the entire act.

Kota Bharu police are now looking for the two for performing the dangerous stunt. According to the police, the act was carried out by a 17-year-old boy on 25 April around 1pm.

Acting on a police report, the police raided a home in Kampung Machang Bubok, Peringat, on the same day around 5.50pm. They confiscated a blue baju Melayu, a blue baju kurung, and a white Honda C-1108 motorcycle to help with investigations.

However, the couple weren’t on the premises and the police believe that both of them ran away.

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a maximum 5-year jail term and a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the investigating officer ASP Ahmad Adnan bin Mohamad at 09-7752200 or any nearest police station.
