Johor Floods: Man Killed As Car Swept Away

The floods in Johor have claimed a life. A man was found dead, believed to have been trapped in a car that was swept away by floodwaters.

The non-stop rain for 24 hours has caused massive floods in some parts of the state.
The number of victims evacuated as of noon today (1 March) stood at 5,878, as reported by The Star.
54 temporary relief centres (PPS) are currently housing 1,575 families, compared to 581 families at 25 centres previously in six districts.
Several hours ago, a boat carrying officers from the Welfare Department (JKM) was swept away by the flood in a palm oil plantation.
Luckily the officers were rescued and no one was injured during the incident.

If significant rainfall persists, the Department of Drainage and Irrigation (DID) in a statement said floods are predicted in several areas; Kg Orang Asli Peta, Sg Lenggong at Mile 42 in Kluang, Mersing and Kg Jemari, Sg Mersing and their surrounding areas.
