Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in a statement today said Perikatan Nasional (PN) will not be part of the unity government helmed by Pakatan Harapan (PH).
The PN chief said this following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s offer last night for PN to join the unity government currently made up of PH-BN-GPS-GRS.
Muhyiddin thanked Anwar for the offer but said in the spirit of empowering democracy and Parliament check-and-balance, PN would remain the opposition.
“PN will play role of an opposition with integrity to bring the rakyat’s voice to Parliament and to ensure the government’s administration is with integrity and corruption-free in line with the principles of being concerned, clean and stable,” he said.
Muhyiddin added that PN was open to cooperate with the government within the scope of a government-opposition relationship.
