Brickfields police in a statement urged supporters to abide by the law to ensure the swearing-in process for Malaysia’s 10th prime minister can proceed smoothly.

The ceremony is expected to take place at 5pm at Istana Negara after the palace announced earlier that Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is appointed to the post.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor said stern action will be taken against any political party supporter who engage in provocation or any form of racial or religious incitement.

The public is also advised against sharing any social media posts that can lead to misunderstanding or cause anxiety among the masses.

Meanwhile, Anwar will hold a press conference after the swearing-in ceremony.

The press conference is scheduled to take place in Kajang later this afternoon.
