Police mount roadblocks nationwide, but not during peak hours

The police began mounting roadblocks at strategic locations in every district in the country on a 24-hour shift from yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said this would proceed for now in a bid to increase the police’s efforts in preventing crimes by increasing its omnipresence.

There would be no roadblocks during peak hours, he assured.

Acryl Sani said the people did not have to worry in carrying out their daily activities as the country’s security is under control.
