A three-metre-long crocodile has been captured by The Fire and Rescue Department in a drain nearby a children’s playground in Taman Serambi, Petra Jaya, Kuching today.
According to The Star, the department was alerted about the reptile’s presence by the public at 10.16am.
Eight firemen from the Petra Jaya fire station were immediately dispatched to the scene where they found the crocodile inside a drain just outside of the playground.
“The team used a rope to tie the crocodile’s mouth to avert any risk of danger before removing it from the drain,” a spokesman from the department was quoted as saying by the English daily.
The male crocodile was then handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC).
