2 Malaysian Athletes Won Gold Medals At Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Masters 2022

Jiu-Jitsu exponents Cassandra J. Poyong and Lee Ai Jin won a Gold Medal in their respective divisions at the IBJJF World Masters 2022 in Las Vegas this week!

New Straits Times reported that 33-year-old Cassandra from Sabah previously won silver in the women’s under-55kg at the 2019 Manila Sea Game and a gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in the same year.

The Star reported that Ai Jin won bronze medals in the women’s below 45kg at the 2019 Manila Sea Games and Jiu-jitsu World Championships in the United States in the same year.

Before Cassandra competed professionally in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, she graduated with a law degree. Her courage to make the career change paid off and she has competed in several competitions in countries such as Abu Dhabi And Portugal.

According to The Edge, she also started her own high-end skincare company, Organically Moi, in May 2018 to help fund her travels and competitions.
