Police Detain 7 Men For Selling Cannabis-Laced “Wonder Cake” Online

The suspects were detained separately by the police following raids at condominiums in Bandar Manjalara, Kepong and Jalan Lintang, Batu Caves.

An arrest of a 21-year-old local man in a condominium in Bandar Manjalara, Kepong on 9 June led to the arrest of another six suspects for selling cannabis-laced biscuits to their customers online.

Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said that the suspects sold the locally baked “cookies” through social media platforms.

“The biscuits produced around Klang Valley were sold in a six-piece pack weighing 230g for RM100.

“We raided the condominium and found two packets with ‘Happiness Begins with a Wonder Cake’ sticker,” he was quoted as saying in a Bernama report.

According to the report, the first suspect was picked up at a condominium in Bandar Manjalara and following interrogation on the suspect, the police nabbed the other six men in separate raids in Kepong and Batu Caves.

“The police had also seized cannabis weighing 25,150g, ecstasy pills weighing 2,863g, RM6,000 cash, and five jewellery items, with the total seizure value of RM248,490,” added Beh.

He said that three of the seven suspects had tested positive for drugs. Beh also added that based on preliminary checks, four of the seven suspects had previous drug-related records.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
