A Malaysian national who went missing in late 2020 in Australia was found dead in Bathurst, Sydney last Sunday, believed to have been killed by his own gang members.

The remains of “Jacky” Chong Kai Wong were found by New South Wales Police task force that is investigating a suspected drug syndicate.

Three men aged between 22 and 33 were charged with his murder.

Chong, who was in Australia on a holiday visa, was believed to have been involved with organised crime.

He was allegedly working as a marijuana crop sitter for a south-east Asian crime group, monitoring between 500 and 100 plants on a remote property about 40 kilometres from Bathurst.

Police believe that Chong was killed due to a dispute over money with other senior members of the gang.

9news reported that the body will undergo forensic examination and DNA testing. The police believe that it is Wong even though they have not formally identified the remains.
