Two naval officers of the Royal Malaysian Navy were injured in an accident after the four-wheel drive (4WD) they were travelling in hit a cow along the North-South Expressway on Monday.

During the incident, Lt Kdr Mohamad Azmi Ibrahim, 39, was driving the vehicle while his colleague Kdr Mohd Reduan Ayub, 42, was seated in the front passenger seat, when the accident occurred at 3.15am at KM249.7 of the expressway.

“Based on the early investigation at the accident scene, they were driving along the right lane when they were believed to have hit the animal which caused the vehicle to spin before stopping on the left lane,” Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said.

He noted that the accident occurred along the dark stretch of the expressway where no lights were put up.

Both senior navy officers were heading back to their base at the Lumut Navy base when the collision happened.
