65 Form One and Form Two students at Sekolah Seri Puteri in Cyberjaya have tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (1 December).

Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said the index case is a teacher in the school and it’s the biggest reported case yet in a boarding school.

This is the first time a boarding school reported these many cases. Pray that all affairs will be eased.

Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin said in a tweet.

According to Berita Harian, the students have been quarantined at the Taman Ekspo Pertanian Malaysia (MAEPS) Serdang quarantine centre yesterday.

Based on a tweet by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin today (2 December), 71 students and 2 teachers tested positive out of 451 people tested at the school.

All teachers and students are fully vaccinated except 4 individuals.

The 65 students who tested positive are under Category 1 and 2A, and are in stable condition.

242 close contacts have been quarantined in the boarding school too.

Last year, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said any school would be closed for seven days if a Covid-19 case is detected without the need to wait for the Health Ministry’s confirmation.
