PMC lends a helping hand to Hospis Malaysia

A lot goes on in the process of caring and providing comfort for those with serious life-limiting illnesses. There are few unsung heroes who strive to provide palliative care in our nation, most notably, Hospis Malaysia.

In efforts to make the world a better place one t-shirt at a time, Malaysia’s very own Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC), has taken a step forward. The brand popularised as “The Pride of Southeast Asia”, kicks off their latest campaign; PMC x Hospis Malaysia: In Support of Palliative Care.

More than 55,000 Malaysians in need of palliative care

What is palliative care though? It is a healthcare approach that improves the quality of life for people with life threatening illnesses, through prevention and relief of pain and suffering resulting from the illness.

With a team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and occupational therapists, Hospis Malaysia’s mission is to ensure that anyone who suffers from a serious life-limiting illness such as cancer, organ failure or late stage dementia, continues to live with quality of life. Through compassion and dedication, they work around the clock to ensure each patient lives out their days with dignity.

Though there are patients they are unable to reach, the team teaches and trains others, extending their care as far as they can. Hospis Malaysia believes that no patient, nor their family should be left suffering from the physical and emotional effects of a serious illness.

PMC’s collaboration with a specialised charitable organisation such as Hospis Malaysia aims to drive awareness for palliative care amongst our youth. Simultaneously, the brand is also gunning for funds for the initiative via a combination of PMC’s trademark merchandise and wholesome educational content.

The collaboration has birthed two exclusive t-shirt designs and a dressed stuffed toy elephant, launched on 5th April 2021. The designs were launched in conjunction with Palliative Care Month, though these hotcakes will only be available on a pre-order basis for one week.


The PMC x Hospis Malaysia: In Support of Palliative Care merchandise are available for pre-order from 5th April to 11th April 2021 via PMC’s official website with worldwide shipping. All proceeds from sales will be donated to Hospis Malaysia in support of palliative care.
