A person who looks a lot like Bono, frontman of the legendary Irish rock band U2, was recently spotted in Kuala Lumpur. Videos circulating online show a man rocking Bono’s signature swept-back hairstyle, sunglasses, and black jacket in various places across the city.
He was seen being super friendly with people, even taking pictures and signing autographs. This wild Bono sighting triggered buzz about the celebrity’s sudden appearance here in Malaysia.
Is he here for a secret concert, on vacation? Maybe he’s here to tapau some Nasi Lemak?!

Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, hails from Dublin, Ireland, and has been the voice of U2 since 1976.
With hit songs like I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, Vertigo and many others, they’re credited as one of the most influential rock bands of all time—having more than 170 million records sold worldwide, close to a billion streams on Spotify (for just one song!) and 22 Grammys.
Bono was even awarded an honorary knighthood by the late Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the music industry and his humanitarian work. But since he’s not British we unfortunately can’t call him ‘Sir Bono’.
Whether Bono is really in KL or not remains a bono-fide mystery for now. But someone did manage to ask the man why he was here—and he said:
I’m here because a friend of mine is opening an Irish pub called Arthur’s Storehouse in Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

Well, we do know that Bono has been seen enjoying a good pint of Irish dry stout every now and again…

And Arthur’s Storehouse, which has outlets in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Pavilion Bukit Jalil, specialises in Guinness-infused food, cocktails and some good ol’ Irish vibes!
