Hey, what was your dream job when you were a kid? Some would say, doctors, policemen or even firefighters, right?
Well if your kid dreams to become a firefighter, say no more!
You could check with your children’s kindergarten teachers if they could have a ‘Visit the Fire Department Day’.
Recently, a video of a few adorable kids in cute firefighters’ outfits at the fire station went viral with 849.5K views and 126K likes. The video was uploaded by a firefighter himself, @Najmi_majid.
The video featured the 4-6-year-olds being prepped in their little firefighter’s uniform and going through some drills as well as safety classes at the Kuala Kurau Fire and Rescue Department, Perak.
They were seen listening intently to the facilitators on fire safety, doing the ‘stop, drop and roll’, participating in the colouring competition, and even getting a tour on the firetruck. The activities look so fun and exciting! And they’re educational too.
They even had blast running around and playing with the water spray session. Who needs to go to a water theme park when you can just enjoy a water spray at the fire station?
It’s too cute we can’t handle it!
Netizens were so in love with the cute little firefighters. It’s hard not to let out an ‘awhhh’ when you watch this ‘action-packed’ video.
“Can’t grown-ups join too?”
Yes, we were wondering the same thing too.
This definitely looks better than a day at Kidzania.
One user even joked that this is what it’ll look like if employers want people with 20 years of experience.
This is actually a program called 3K
For those who wonder, the kids didn’t just simply waltz in there and decided to become firefighters. They were in a program called Children’s Fire Safety Club or Kelab Keselamatan Kebakaran Kanak-kanak (3K).
They aim to introduce the fire and safety department to the new generation by educating the kids about fire safety and firefighter activities. Apart from making education fun and exciting, this program preps the kids with sufficient info on what to do if they’re in a fire emergency situation.
This type of program is usually done by a specific kindergarten once a year and they take about 4 hours.
Remember those firefighters that used to come to our schools and give a fire drill? We were taught how to handle a fire extinguisher and what do to in case of a fire emergency. Well, this is a version of the same thing, but for kids!
Boy, we wish we could get a ride on the fire truck too. Don’t you?
If you wanna let your kids experience these too, you can request your children’s kindergarten teachers to book a slot with the available fire departments and do some paperwork on the field trip. After they’ve received the application, they’ll pick a date suitable to them and contact you again.
