Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the “advicing phase” of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is now over and that PDRM will take stern action against those who violate the rules in place.

Under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, the police can issue compounds of RM1,000. Those found guilty in the court can be fined up to RM1,000 or maximum 6-months jail or both.

He also warned that the public should not take advantage of the relaxed restrictions under CMCO to go out in big groups or bring their children along to supermarkets.

At times, it seems like some people assume that there are no more rules and regulations during the CMCO and behave like there is unrestricted freedom. When we ease the restrictions, we want the rakyat to adhere to every rule to prevent the rise of (Covid-19) cases.

Ismail Sabri then reminded that movements can be restricted once again to the earlier phases of the MCO if people fail to adhere to the rules and regulations in place.

He also stated that the duration of the CMCO and MCO is dependent on public adherence to the SOP and rules in place by the authorities.

On 10th May, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a month-long CMCO that will last until 9th June 2020.
