Meanwhile, school students or students of institutions of higher learning (IPT) do not need to undergo Covid-19 screening if they want to sit for exams or return to dormitories and campuses.

Senior Minister (Security), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said schools or higher learning institutions cannot set the conditions, except for those with symptoms.

Yesterday there were complaints about IPTs and schools in some states that imposed conditions on students to make a ‘swab test’ before entering campus or hostel, to sit for exams at their own expense. The government has discussed this matter and agreed that IPTs or schools should not impose conditions on students to undergo a ‘swab test’, either to enter the hostel or to sit for exams, except for symptomatic students only.
