When Lenggong-based postman Mohd Munir Mohd Yusof shared a video of an adorable dog dutifully collecting its owner’s mail, little did he expect that their four-year friendship would go viral.
In a 10-second clip shared on Munir’s Facebook, the dog is seen grabbing the mail after hearing the instruction “up” and bringing it back to the house as Munir says “thank you” to the good dog.
Munir shares that the dog has been collecting mail from him for four years, telling Malay Mail that the dog knows it’s him whenever he sees him riding down the slope towards the house and will be readily waiting outside the gate by the time Munir arrives.
Sometimes, if the owner does not open the gate for the dog, it will stand on its hind legs, inside the compound to wait for me to pass the letters to it.Mohd Munir Mohd Yusof to Malay Mail.
He added that the dog would “scold” him if he passes the mail directly to the owner, always insisting that it collects the letter instead.
Of course, the dog’s friendly behaviour warmed the hearts of Malaysians online who were impressed by its cleverness with some sharing tales of their own naughty pets.
Spurred by the positivity on his post that had over 17,000 shares, Munir shared another clip of his routine with the cute pup with the owner around on Sunday, 18 July, that amassed over 1,000 shares.
