Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that banks can resume the normal operational hours of their automated teller machines (ATMs) from 1st June onwards.
The Senior Minister explained that the government had decided to lift the previous ruling for ATMs to operate between from 8am to 8pm which was implemented during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
This previous directive was put in place on 19th April after the police found many were out late at night on the pretext of making ATM withdrawals.
While ATMs are allowed to operate for their usual hours, Ismail Sabri reminded that the public must still adhere to social distancing guidelines while using the ATM.
