Malaysia has recorded it’s lowest number of new cases since 18 March 2020 when the movement control order (MCO) was implemented 71 days ago.

During his daily Covid-19 briefing today, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stated that only 15 new cases were detected nationwide.

Out of the 15 cases, 9 were from local transmission, with only five cases involving Malaysians while the other four involved non-Malaysians. Meanwhile, six cases were imported cases involving transmission from abroad.

This brings the latest tally of positive cases in the country to 7,619.

Besides that, the Health Ministry reports that 42 Covid-19 patients have recovered and discharged today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,083.

There have been no Covid-19 deaths recorded today, which means that Malaysia’s death toll remains at 115.
