The Muallim District Health Office in Perak recently confirmed that students from an institution of higher learning (IPT) in the district have tested positive for Covid-19.
Based on a report by Bernama, the results were detected after the health office screened the students during an operation to send them back home.
In a now-deleted statement posted to its Facebook page on 13 May, Muallim District Health Office said that they are working together with the IPT’s health centre to trace positive patients’ close contacts in the university’s campus.
They explained that they aim to achieve early detection of the cases by actively searching for possible positive cases among the students who were stranded on campus.
Among the measures taken are active tracing, health screening, taking swab samples, quarantine orders, health education on Covid-19 and mental health management.
