The low-cost carrier has announced that its domestic flights will resume today. Their international flights will be resumed in stages, starting with Thailand on 2 May, Indonesia on 7 May, and Philippines on 16 May.

Strict health controls and social distancing protocols are in place, in compliance with the regulations. The resumption of services will increase gradually to include international destinations around the region, once the situation improves and governments lift borders and travel restrictions .

AirAsia is working with all relevant regulators, local government, civil aviation, and health authorities on resuming their flight services. The carrier is also following guidance from the World Health Organisation and International Civil Aviation Organisation to make sure all flights adhere to the the highest standards of compliance.

All aircrafts are fitted with hospital-grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters and will be sent for disinfection after every flight.

The carrier even introduced a new uniform for its staff during this time, with long sleeves, a visor, a medical mask, and gloves, designed by Filipino fashion designer Puey Quinones.

In addition, all guests will be required to bring and wear their own mask and practise universally recommended protective precautionary measures such as social distancing and observing high personal hygiene.

They have also prepared some information to help readjust to the new normal of flying in Malaysia on their Facebook page.
