As Malaysians struggle to make ends meet during the Covid-19 pandemic, a man in Penang was recently spotted selling headscarves on his motorbike at a petrol station.

The reason: to buy milk and diapers for his kids.

The heart-breaking sight was shared by Facebook user Alin Taharin who stumbled across the man at a petrol station in Seberang Jaya, Penang.

In her post, she remarked how the man did not ask for money, but decided to sell headscarves for his childrens’ needs.

Pictures shared by Alin showed the motorcycle glistening under the hot sun with a small rack of headscarves dangling off the handle and a card that read; “I’m selling tudung to buy milk and diapers for my kids.”

Your concern proves the goodness of your heart.

Alin Taharin, Facebook.

Indeed, the goodness of Malaysian hearts shone as the post was flooded with replies from concerned Malaysians asking for the man’s contact so that they can offer help.

There has been no update yet if the hardworking father has been found, but we hope that he receives the help he deserves.

The shuttering of business caused by the pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO) has clearly wreaked havoc on the financial stability of Malaysians.

Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) has warned that over 2 million Malaysians might lose their jobs, while the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects that national unemployment will spike to 4.9% this year.
