9-Year-Old Boy Cares For Younger Brothers In Marang Quarantine Facility

Hussain Izzuddin Che Mamad has had to carry some big responsibilities on his shoulders even though he’s only nine years old.
In an interview with Astro Awani, the tahfiz student shared that he has been taking care of his two younger brothers, Hassan Nasruddin and Ali Akimuddin who are aged 7 and 6 years old since they were admitted to the Marang Covid-19 Quarantine Facility.
I’m sad because my mum isn’t here. We’ve been in here for two weeks, but we’re still allowed to go out, there are lots to eat, we can play, pray, study and read books.

According to Hassan, the younger brother, he always prays that his mother is safe, and keeps to his daily routine while in quarantine, such as studying and playing with his older and younger brother.
To this, Hussain explained that since they’ve been at the quarantine centre, he and his brothers have been filling their time by studying the al-Quran and playing together to distract themselves from missing their family.
The three siblings were sent there without their parents on 7 April after being in close contact with a Covid-19 Person Under Investigation (PUI) at their religious school located near Pasir Putih.
Hussain said that since they have been at the facility, he’s had to be responsible for taking care of his two younger siblings. Whenever his younger brothers cry, he shared that he would comfort them and invite them to play Carrom and checkers.
If my younger brothers cry, I have to comfort them. I’ll feed them some food to make them feel better.

However, if he and his brothers miss their parents too much, they will give their family, who lives in Paka, Dungun, a call and pray that God helps them overcome their longing for their parents.
Thankfully, the three brothers have been confirmed to be Covid-19 free now that they’ve completed their two weeks of quarantine today (21 April) and should be returning home to their parents as soon as possible.
