In conjunction with its RamRaya campaign, Sama-Sama Berseri, Lotuss Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia) launched its Lotus’s RAHMAH Initiative in support of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living’s programme as a measure to reduce cost of living pressures faced by Malaysians.

Launching the Lotus’s RAHMAH initiative at Lotus’s Selayang today was Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, accompanied by Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Secretary-General and Kenneth Chuah, President of Lotus’s Malaysia.

At the event, Salahuddin said having Lotus’s Malaysia’s support as its strategic partner is a sign of the programme’s continued success.

Extending its support for the sustainable growth of Malaysia and its ongoing efforts to create positive impact to vulnerable communities in the country, Lotus’s commits to delivering its Jualan RAHMAH, Pakej RAHMAH, Bakul RAHMAH, and Menu RAHMAH starting today.

“Many are feeling the pinch with the increasing cost of living especially the B10 and B40 groups. We hope that with the introduction of our Jualan RAHMAH Initiative, we can help lighten the burden of our customers by providing them with savings of up to 50% on 6,000 products when they shop at all Lotus’s stores and on our Lotus’s Shop Online platform”, Chuah said.

Customers can also enjoy savings from 30% on essential food products and back-to-school items under its RAHMAH Package deal, and purchase of RM5 Menu RAHMAH meals in all its Lotus’s food courts.

Through its Lotus’s #KitakanJiran community programme the retailer will be contributing 1,200 Bakul RAHMAH, providing as many as 8,000 vulnerable individuals in 200 charity homes with access to fresh vegetables, fruits, bakery items and essential products like rice, sugar, flour and cooking oil throughout the year.

“#KitakanJiran drives everyone in Lotus’s to do more for our communities. We currently have an ongoing programme with Kechara Soup Kitchen called Sama-Sama Hidup Baru where we provide the urban poor with meals, hygiene kits, free haircuts and employment opportunities at our stores.

“Customers are also welcomed to contribute by donating 390 My Lotus’s points via the Lotus’s Malaysia Application. And this Ramadhan, our #KitakanJiran volunteers will be preparing and distributing 2,000 Berbuka Puasa meals to vulnerable communities in the Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Kedah,” Chuah added.

Chuah also spoke of the retailer’s existing daily food donation programme from 65 Lotus’s stores across the country. Up until December 2022, Lotus’s Malaysia has donated over 2.42 million kilograms of food equivalent to 10.4 million meals to various B10 and B40 individuals and families through its long-time partnership with the Food Aid Foundation and Kechara Soup Kitchen.

From 9 March – 15 May 2023, Lotus’s Sama-Sama Berseri RamRaya campaign offers customers discounts of up to 50% on selected grocery items and further savings with its discount vouchers available in its printed and e-catalogues. Also available are fashionable Hari Raya clothing designs like baju kurung set (RM49.90), Baju Melayu set (RM69.90), Kurta (RM39.90) and Baby set (RM22.90).
