Grab, the popular ride-hailing and food delivery platform, has clarified its temporary suspension of a food delivery rider following an incident at a petrol station in Johor.

The rider was reportedly involved in an altercation with two Singaporeans while on a job delivering food.

According to Grab, the suspension was a precautionary measure taken to investigate reports from the public regarding public safety.

Grab has a code of conduct to protect its community of users and partners, centring on service quality and safety.

After completing the investigation, which included conversations with the delivery partner, Grab reinstated his account.

Grab Offers Apology To Rider

The company apologised to the rider if he felt unjustly treated and acknowledged that its processes might seem harsh to some.

However, Grab emphasised that safety is a top priority for the platform, which provides Malaysians with equal access to job opportunities and affordable access to daily needs safely.

Grab appreciated the feedback, complaints and tough love from its partners and the Malaysian public.

The company pledged to continue evaluating its processes to ensure that the quality of service and safety for its users and partners (riders) remains a top priority.
