In Langkawi, a six-year-old boy has reportedly driven a car and crashed it into a pole.

Some netizens suggest the child claimed the car was driven by a “hairy grandpa” (tokwan berbulu).

However, police rejected the allegation that there was a mystical element to the incident.

According to Langkawi OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari, the child demonstrated knowledge of operating the car’s pedals, gears, and engine and even explained how to use the gears to a traffic investigator.

The child reversed the car out of the driveway before the accident occurred.

Shariman said the car’s dashboard camera footage revealed the child’s driving was unstable and included some swerving into opposite lanes.

It remains unclear how the child accessed and drove the car in the first place.
