Recently, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said that individuals who are eligible for Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia 2022 (BKM) can start registering or updating their names from 1st January 2022 till 31st January 2022.
What’s BKM 2022?
Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia is a new financial aid in 2022 from the government for low-income citizens replacing the previous aids like Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (BR1M), Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH), Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN), Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR), Geran Khas Prihatin (GKP), Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKP) and others in previous years.
The highest aid is up to RM2000 for eligible candidates this time around as opposed to RM1800 from BPR last year.
How to Apply?
The data of those who already registered for previous aids like BPR 2021, BKC B40 or GKP recipients whose applications for BPR had been rejected will be brought automatically into the BKM system for a cross-check according to the conditions.
Basically, those who already have their information in the LHDNM database for aids before would automatically receive the BKM aid this year, if you’re still eligible of course. Go to the website to check if you’re eligible, just to make sure.
If you have any change of information, for example, your salary or marriage status, do update your profile on the BKM website before 31st January 2022.
If you have never applied for BPR or BKC and your info is not yet registered on the LDHNM database, do apply for a new one on the BKM portal or go to any LDHNM branch, satellite office (PS), revenue service centre (PKH), or Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) by filling in and submitting the BKM Application Form there.
Some of the updates and new applications need supporting documents like a copy of your marriage certificate/death certificate(spouse’s)/divorce certificate, your spouse’s/children Identification Card and some more just to make sure you’re categorized in the right section for the right aid.
All new applications or updates must be done from 1 January until 31st January 2022.
