[UPDATE: At 3pm, Maybank has confirmed that the Maybank2u web and app are operating as usual again. Customers can perform banking transactions via the two platforms and MAE app.]

Malaysia’s largest bank, Maybank, is facing technical issues on their website and M2U mobile applications this morning.

According to SoyaCincau, when users attempt to log in, the apps indicate that it can’t process the request and recommends the user to try again.

Meanwhile, when users visit the bank’s website, it displays nothing other than error messages.

It appears that Maybank’s online technical issues are affecting all customers. Complaints have been pouring in online by frustrated Maybank users, to the extent that Maybank is now a trending topic on Twitter.

The bank has also acknowledged the issue in response to customers on Twitter. They explained that they are currently experiencing intermittent service interruptions and are working to solve the issue as soon as possible.

At the time of writing, TRP checks show that MAE app is working while Maybank2u is still experiencing technical issues.
