School In Kulim Closed Down For Sanitation, Linked To Tawar Cluster

A school in Kulim, Kedah has been ordered to close down by the Ministry of Health for sanitation purposes after being linked to the Tawar Cluster.
The Ministry revealed that the new cases in Kulim, Kedah involve a teacher and three students who are family members to the index case (Case 9,113).
The case is from the Tawar cluster which has now entered the third generation. It was previously associated with funeral ceremonies held on 31 July and 1 August.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, said the Ministry the school has been closed and students tested for the coronavirus.
We have closed the school and conducted COVID-19 screening on all its students. We have taken all possible approaches to curb this epidemic. I hope in the next one or two weeks, we will be able to curb the spread in the area.
