Hishamuddin Confirms Wisma Putra Staff Is Covid-19 Positive

Foreign Minister Datuk Hishamuddin Hussein has confirmed that a Wisma Putra staff member is positive for Covid-19.

He said that the staff had tested positive after health screenings were done at the Ministry but the person did not show any symptoms such as fever, flu, cough or sore throat.

The staff member is currently being treated at Sungai Buloh Hospital and Hishamuddin also said close contacts to the person have been identified.

They have have been directed to undergo health screenings and a mandatory 14-day quarantine at home.

As a response to the case, the Ministry of Health and the Fire and Rescue Department will carry out disinfection works at Wisma Putra’s headquarters.

NST also reported that the Minister and the Minister’s Office have also been advised to undergo a 14-day home quarantine.
