Selangor eateries will be allowed to reopen their dine-in options, according to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari yesterday.
Since the beginning of the Movement Control Order (MCO), restaurants and eateries only allowed to provide food for delivery and take-away options.
The implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) allowed other states to resume dine-in options for customers, but the Selangor state government opted to limit food premise operations even during CMCO.
Now, as new Covid-19 cases drop to an all-time low since the pandemic began, the Selangor state government has allowed all food premises to resume their regular operations, including food truck operators and roadside stalls.

However, food premises and customers must continue to adhere to social distancing regulations, such as maintaining a one-metre distance, frequent sanitisation, and a record of all visiting customers.
Penang, which also decided to impose the additional restriction, is allowing dine-in at restaurants to resume as well, according to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
However, some restaurants in the Klang Valley, Johor Baru, and Ipoh were reluctant to resume dine-in operations, according to the Malay Mail.
Restaurant owners claim that it is more difficult to ensure social distancing with dine-in customers and employees alike.
Many voiced their concerns over resuming dine-in operations, claiming that even if business drops, they do not want to put restaurant staff, as well customers, at risk.
As such, some restaurants are considering only allowing take-away and delivery until it is completely safe for dine-in, even if the state government is allowing dine-in to resume.
