The police now allow for interstate travel using public transportation and motorcycles, according to a report by Bernama.
Director of Bukit Aman’s Crime Investigations Department Datuk Huzir Mohamed said before making their journey they must get the permission through the Gerak Malaysia app or at the nearest police station.
For now, they would allow interstate travel for those stranded in their hometowns and want to return back to their homes or for people who commute for work purposes.
It will be in stages up to 10 May starting with Kuala Lumpur, followed by Perak, Johor and Kelantan.
On Saturday, those from Perlis, Kedah Pulau Penang, Melaka and Pahang will be allowed to move while the people from Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Terengganu are permitted to travel on Sunday.
