A Malaysian Newborn Baby Is Covid-19 Positive. No One Knows How They Got Infected

During the daily Covid-19 briefing, Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed that a newborn baby was found to be positive of the virus.
The 18-day-old infant was born to a mother who was also Covid-19 positive.
However, the health authorities have no idea if the child got infected by the virus in the womb or after birth.
There is an issue of a pregnant woman (Covid-19 positive) who gave birth. Her child, who is 18 days old, has tested positive but there was no complications with the pregnancy and delivery.

Dr Noor Hisham did not elaborate further on the case, so the mystery remains on how the newborn was infected by the coronavirus.
Malaysia records 31 new cases of Covid-19 with a total of 5,851 cases and 100 deaths.
