Razarudin Takes Over From Acryl Sani As IGP

Tan Sri Razarudin Husain is Malaysia’s new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) effective this Friday.

He takes over from Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani who previously announced he was stepping down from the post earlier than his contract term.

According to Berita Harian, also promoted is Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay as the new Deputy IGP.

Both appointments have received the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on the advice of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Born in Dengkil, Selangor in 1963, the 61-year-old Razarudin joined PDRM in 1984.

Acryl Sani still had a few months left to serve in his contract but opted to retire early.

Razarudin is the IGP on a two-year contract until June 2025.
