After being in the music industry for 17 years, Malaysian singer-songwriter Faizal Tahir said he believes he’s worthy enough and able to give something back to his audience.

He announced that his concert “Aku Faizal Tahir” will be held on 2 September 2023 at 8.30pm in Dewan Merdeka, WTCKL.

There are three ticket tiers: the lowest is the Platinum tier at RM488, Diamond at RM588, and VIP at RM688. Tickets will start selling on 14 June 2023 at 10am on Jiotix.

While initially happy about his concert, netizens are left agape by the steep ticket prices.

They have waited for a long time to see him perform live but they can’t afford the current ticket prices.

Some of his long-time fans expressed their disappointment in hilarious tones. One of them jokingly said they can only afford to listen to his songs on YouTube.

Others pointed out that the venue does not justify the steep price with a few suggesting a switch of venues to be better.

On the other hand, a netizen feels the VIP tickets are underpriced for a seasoned artist like Faizal Tahir. The netizen suggests raising the VIP ticket prices but lowering the Platinum tickets to an affordable rate so more people can enjoy his concert.

Meanwhile, another person claims that the concert is meant for clients of Allianz who will be given complimentary tickets. The steep ticket prices are for non-clients who want to watch the concert.

Despite the high price, a netizen believes Faizal Tahir is one of the singers who deserve to hold a big concert.

Who is Faizal Tahir?

Faizal Tahir first shot to fame after becoming the first runner-up of the first season of One in a Million in 2006.

He has won multiple Anugerah Industri Muzik awards (the Malaysian equivalent of the Grammys), Anugerah Juara Lagu, and Anugerah Planet Muzik awards.

Some of his best hits include Santai, Mahakarya Cinta, and Fire & Water, which was also the theme song for BoBoiBoy Movie 2.
