An aquarium at a Johor home burst recently leading to the death of a 12-year-old boy.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the incident happened in Tangkak, Johor.

The boy, who suffered injuries to his head and back, died on the way to the hospital.

The online portal added that Tangkak district police chief Supt Mohad Idris Samsuri had disclosed in a statement that the police have received a report from the boy’s family.

Idris said the boy’s parents had rushed him to a nearby clinic and then took an ambulance to the Sultanah Fatima Specialist Hospital in Muar.

However, unfortunately for the family, the boy was confirmed dead by a medical assistant on the way to the hospital.

Idris also disclosed that the boy’s autopsy revealed that the cause of death was from blunt force trauma and that the police have classified the case as sudden death.

To those with aquariums at home, while this seems unusual and rare to many, precautions should be taken to make sure children or anyone is out of reach.
