Pregnant Woman Bitten By Neighbour’s Dog in Cheras
The victim was hurt protecting her children from the dog.
A 35-year-old pregnant woman sustained an injury on her right forearm after she was bitten by the neighbour’s dog while trying to protect her children last Saturday.
The incident occurred at a condominium car park in Cheras, according to Kajang district police chief Mohd Zaid Hassan.
The dog, a Labrador breed, belonged to another woman who is also a resident of the condominium.
Mohd Zaid also said that the 38-year-old woman did not possess a license to own the dog.
He explained that apparently, the dog freed itself from the care of its owner before the incident. He also said that the case is being investigated for negligence in taking care of the animal.
Mohd Zaid said that the police are confirming with the Kajang Municipal Council regarding the dog’s licence. Should the dog be unlicensed, police would charge the owner in court, said Zaid.
Dog owners in Malaysia are required to apply for a licence through their respective local authorities.
