There seems to be an increase in road accidents lately and it’s scary for everyone on the road. Recently, a video showing an accident between a car and a motorcycle had gone viral online.

Based on the timestamp of the dashcam, the incident happened on Monday, 18 April around 2.28pm.

In the video, a sedan car allegedly made a quick right turn without putting on a signal.

It caused an oncoming motorcycle to ram into the vehicle and sent the rider somersaulting in the air before landing on the ground.

The driver of the car slowly drove away, seemingly trying to make an escape. It’s said that the driver has been apprehended.

Unfortunately, the victim Muhammad Firdaus did not survive the impact.

According to the victim’s relative, Firdaus worked as a medical assistant and was on the way back home from Hospital Temerloh when he was caught in the accident around 2.30pm.

The victim’s colleagues and peers also expressed their condolences.

Netizens felt both angry at the irresponsible driver and felt sad for the victim. They also voiced their experiences meeting similar careless drivers on the road.

A few netizens advised motorcyclists to adopt defensive driving while on the road and to invest in proper protective gear, especially helmets that offer full protection.

Some netizens pointed the blame at senior citizens and said they shouldn’t be allowed to drive.

However, another netizen said careless driving is not confined to an age group and younger drivers behaved with similar recklessness on the road too.

Hopefully, everyone will be careful and be mindful of other road users after this.
