2023 Sees Concert Scene In Malaysia Alive And Kicking, Check Out What’s In Store February Till May

From local artists to international superstars, here are some of the upcoming concerts from February to May 2023.

Live music is picking up this year after almost three years of having to rely on Spotify for our music fix, all thanks to the pandemic.

We got Billie Eilish, Lany, Keshi and Jackson Wang last year and this year, it’s going to be more epic. One Republic, Westlife, Sting, and Blackpink are some of the acts that are going to grace KL these upcoming months.

Besides international artists, we also curated a list of local artists set to hit the stage this year.

Here are some of the upcoming concerts coming to you from February to May:

1. Peakstorm Festival 2023: Joji Live In KL

If last year brought Pink Sweats and CL to the Surf Beach in Sunway Lagoon, this year, they’re bringing Joji to perform his hits. Local artists such as DJ Blink, Airliftz and Midnight Fusic will also be there to perform too.

2. Westlife The Wild Dreams Tour

Westlife The Wild Dreams Tour will feature all their hits which have shaped the early Y2K experience with iconic pop songs such as Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings, If I Let You Go, Uptown Girl and Hello My Love.

3. DFP Presents: Stacy

If you have missed Stacy all these years, well this is your time to witness her live at DFP. She’ll take fans along through her 15-year journey in the music industry and amaze you with some of her hits throughout the years.

4. Blackpink: Born Pink World Tour

As their second world tour, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will kick off the largest Asia tour in the history of female K-pop groups. Fans will get to enjoy their greatest hits from the Born Pink album such as Pink Venom, Shut Down, Ready For Love and more.

5. Shila Amzah: Journey To The Future

This year, Shila Amzah will be doing a large-scale concert tour in six locations namely Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sabah, Singapore and two in Indonesia. The Journey to the Future will feature 40 songs in a medley and will take two hours.

6. Sound Circus (Bunkface & more)

This two-day music festival features non-stop, feel-good music with an artist lineup of 13 Malaysian and Indonesian acts. With four headliners including our Pop Punk band, Bunkface, you’ll find yourself grooving to punk rock, hip hop, stoner rock, rock & roll, indie and reggae beats!

7. Konsert Malam Bulan Bintang (Siti Nurhaliza & More)

Not only do they sell Eid apparel for Malaysians, but they will be doing a concert too. With a theme of contemporary Islamic music, this concert will feature prominent domestic and international artists such as Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Dato’ M. Nasir, Salammusik, Raihan ft Alif Satar & The Locos, Faizal Tahir, Sabyan as well as Opick.

8. Bryan Adams: So Happy It Hurts Tour

Platinum-selling and Grammy Award-winning musician Bryan Adams is guaranteed to thrill and entertain Malaysians with his energetic performance, effortless stage presence and incredible vocals this March. Walk down memory lane with some of his hits like Please Forgive Me, Heaven and (Everything I Do)I Do It For You.

9. 2023 Treasure Tour Hello

Treasure, a South Korean boy band by YG Entertainment (the same that brought you BlackPink) will be embarking on their first Asia tour called “2023 Treasure Tour Hello,” a continuation of their previous concerts that took place in Seoul and their Japan arena tour.

10. RhytmAsia Echoes From Beyond

Rhythm Asia is the biggest electronic dance music festival in Malaysia and they are doing it this March in Sepang. This concert will feature EDM hits from both local and international talents accompanied by a vast sound system and blinding laser lights.

11. Sounds Of The South: A Santhosh Narayanan Musical Tour

Kabali-famed composer, Santhosh Narayanan will be coming to KL for his first-ever international concert called Sounds Of The South. This show will be featuring some of the most popular songs from his discography, along with never-before-heard extended tracks.

12. Sheila Majid Big Band Live In KL

The veteran pop and jazz singer Sheila Majid will be holding the “Sheila Majid Big Band Live in Kuala Lumpur” this March. She’s doing the concert at Dewan Merdeka in WTCKL (formerly known as PWTC), the same place she did her first concert to promote her 1988 album.

Some of the famous hits that she’s going to perform there are Sinaran, Dia, Antara Anyer Dan Jakarta and Memori.

13. Sting: My Songs Tour

Sting, the legendary singer from The Police, will be coming to Malaysia this March for his My Songs Tour. It will feature most of his beloved hit songs written throughout his career as part of The Police as well as a solo artist. Some of his famous songs include Every Breath You Take, Shape OF My Heart and Desert Rose.

14. Kenny G Live In Malaysia 2023

The Grammy award-winning saxophonist, whose real name is Kenny Bruce Gorelick, skyrocketed to international superstardom in the 1980s with “smooth jazz” ballads like “Songbird” and “Silhouette.” He’ll be serenading the audience in Arena Of Stars, Genting this April.

16. Louis Tomlinson: Faith In The Future World Tour

Louis Tomlinson, the member of one of the hottest boy band groups – One Direction, will be coming to Malaysia this April for his second studio album Faith In The Future world tour. Some of his famous hits include Back To You, Miss You and Two of Us.

17. K-Pop Mega Concert

K-Pop Mega Concert, as its name entails, will bring you not one but a few South Korean K-Pop groups to you at the Surf Beach in Sunway Lagoon. Apart from being headlined by Super Junior, other groups include Teen Top, MCND and Viviz.

Initially, the concert was scheduled for this 18 February but it was later postponed to another date yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned here for more updates.

18. NCT Dream: The Dream Show 2

NCT DREAM, one of the hottest K-pop groups around will perform in KL for the first time ever, as part of “THE DREAM SHOW 2” World Tour. NCT DREAM, a 7-member group under SM Entertainment, made their debut in 2016, and went on to become one of the most popular K-pop groups around.

19. Honne May 2023 Asia Tour

Honne, the English electronic music duo comprising of Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher is coming to Zepp KL this May for their May 2023 Asia Tour.

You’ll be enjoying some of their hit songs live like Day 1, Me & You and Location Unknown there. The tickets are currently on presale until tomorrow (16 February), and the general sale will go live starting 17 February.

20. Stephen Zechariah Live In KL

Stephen Zecharia is a singer, music composer and actor from Singapore. Quite famous in Malaysia, he has a series known as Naam and Naam 2 which Malaysian fans love. He also sung many songs in that series such as Adi Penne and Saaral Mazhaiya.

Tips: You can actually still get tickets for these concerts given that any of the ticket holders would want to let them go. Just look out for them with certain hashtags on Twitter or on the artist’s social media comments a few days before the concert. We hope that helps.
