Malaysians are dedicating beautiful artworks in honor of their heroes in the course of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Sharing their impressive works online, these local artists used their talents to immortalize Malaysian leaders and frontliners who have been championing the nation’s fight against Covid-19 in the form of gigantic murals for all to admire.

“Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others”.

That was the caption written by Suhaimi Ali, a Terengganu-born artist who majors in Art and Design as he thanked his heroes for their efforts.

Using a wall behind a local mamak joint in Shah Alam as his canvas, Suhaimi skilfully creates huge portraits of the nation’s leaders and public officials as a show of appreciation for all that they have done for the country.

Suhaimi’s mural features the prominent faces of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Health Director-General Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, as well as Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.

Suhaimi’s impressive portrait even got the attention of the DG himself, who gave a quick shoutout on Twitter acknowledging the artist’s extraordinary talents.

Meanwhile in East Malaysia, a Sarawakian artist by the name of Leonard Siaw paid homage to our dedicated frontliners who have selflessly defended our nation during the pandemic.

The mural showcases the portraits of Malaysian first-responders and emergency workers handsomely protecting the state of Sarawak.

The inspiring painting had supposedly been commissioned by the Eastern Mall in Siburan as a decorative piece to commemorate the nation’s saviors.
