There have been many unfortunate incidents on the road caused by the careless behaviour of road users.

Recently, a video shared by @mynewshub on Twitter went viral showing an altercation between two drivers on the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke).

It was observed that both drivers were filming each other and at one point, one person displayed what looked like a police authority card.

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) released a media statement about the incident and it was stated that on 30 April, a report was lodged at the Setiawangsa Police station.

According to Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, the party that lodged the report claimed the incident involved a Honda City that was driven dangerously and tried to disrupt his journey.

However, on 1 May, the party who flashed the “authority card” came forward to lodge a report at the Pandan Indah police station, in which he claimed the other driver had caused the disruption by not signalling before changing lanes.

As a result, he reacted by flashing his “authority card” in an effort to get the other driver to pull over.

Ashari informed that checks found the man was an auxiliary police personnel of a bank.

He said the case has been classified as ‘Rujuk Kepada Majistret’ (refer to Magistrate) and will be referred to the auxiliary police agency for further action.

He also stated that the public can contact the IPD Wangsa Maju at 03-92899222 or the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-21159999 or any nearby police station if they have any information on the incident.
