Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine booster dose has been given the conditional approval from the Health Ministry for individuals aged 18 and above.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that the booster dose will be given out to recipients at least six months after they’ve received their second shot.
He mentioned that this is the first Covid-19 vaccine approved for booster dose use in the country.
MOH would like to inform that the approval of this conditional registration requires information on the quality, safety and effectiveness of this vaccine to be monitored and evaluated based on the latest data from time to time. It is to ensure that the comparison of benefits over risk for the vaccine remains positive.
