In an effort to protect the elderly from Covid-19, vaccinations will soon be made available at certain vaccination centers (PPVs) on a walk-in basis for senior citizens.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin noted that this option is not yet available at the time, but will be implemented as soon as logistic issues can be finalized.
This comes after a slew of concerns about crowded PPVs surfaced. Congestion in crowded PPVs may end up being a risk to senior citizens instead.
As the initiative is being put in place, Khairy also asks that senior citizens, along with their escorts, wait until the initiative is finalized before visiting the PPVs.
Although senior citizens are considered an at-risk group, many in the Klang Valley are still waiting for their vaccinations. This initiative will ensure that all senior citizens are able to protect themselves from the adverse effects of Covid-19.
