Local celebrity Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor has been compounded RM20,000 over two counts of SOP breach during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Dang Wangi police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said that her husband Haris Ismail, also known as PU Riz has been compounded RM10,000 while 20 family members were each compounded RM1,500 for not adhering to SOPs such as physical distancing and wearing masks at the couple’s 27 March wedding.

Neelofa was also found guilty of misusing her interstate travel permit for purposes other than stated in the application.

The entire fiasco cost her family a total of RM60,000 in compounds.

A refresher on the drama

Images of Neelofa’s wedding quickly went viral as Malaysians online were enraged by the apparent lack of SOPs.

The anger continued when she and her husband were seen taking part in tourism activities in Langkawi after the wedding, despite the interstate travel ban for social purposes.

Neelofa had also posted images and videos of her and her husband riding a jetski together, taking a cable car ride together, and watching the sunset together on her social media accounts.
