Istana Negara’s Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin has assured the rakyat that there is no cause for concern or alarm over the King’s condition.

In a statement, Istana Negara explained that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was admitted to the Royal Ward at Insititute Jantung Negara (IJN) after he said that he was feeling unwell.

The King had been advised to be monitored by doctors but there is no cause for concern or alarm over his condition.

Last night, probably every news outlet in Malaysia reported that the King had been admitted to the hospital for treatment two days ago. He is expected to be discharged soon.

Meanwhile, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah was in Kota Baru on a personal visit when the King was admitted to the hospital.

She has rushed back to be by her King’s side, cancelling her three-day visit that was supposed to last until today.

We pray for the King’s speedy recovery and long-term health.
